The Oklahoma City Thunder are a professional basketball team playing at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. They are part of the NBA basketball league.

Oklahoma City acquired its own NBA basketball team in 2008 and since then, the Oklahoma City Thunder have become a huge attraction.  Recruits from all over the world have joined this young team, and their combined efforts have resulted in a very impressive track record.  In the 2010-2011 season, the Thunder captured the Northwest Division title and went all the way to the third round of playoffs; in the 2011-2012 season, the team became the NBA Western Conference Champions.

Fans across the state and the nation have become loyal to this up-and-coming team.  The enthusiasm shared by Oklahoma City Thunder fans has been a unifying force since the team was created.  Rumble the Bison is the Oklahoma City Thunder's mascot, and he proudly represents his team and the buffalo, a longtime symbol of the state of Oklahoma.  The Thunder Girls dance team brings excitement for the Thunder wherever they go.

Oklahoma City Thunder games are fun for the whole family and for groups.  Thunder games are held at the Chesapeake Energy Arena, near both I-40 and I-35, which is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City and Bricktown.  There are dozens of restaurants close by for both casual and fine dining before or after a game, and there are also many choices for accommodations in the area.
